Pin Oak slabs, hard and heavy, these two slabs are from one single wider slab that experienced high shrinkage, the central pith raising above the quarter sawn wood either side during air drying. The original slab was ripped down the central pith after air drying to produce the two slabs 4-3 and 4-4, then placed in a dry store for 12 months to kiln condition. They have now had an initial resaw, borer protection applied and placed back in the dry store. The resawing producing flat slabs of even thickness, sufficient to be run through a thicknesser, belt sander or placed on CNC or router table to finish. The two slabs can be placed side by side to form the wider single piece, or they may be used separately. They are offered for sale as a pair.

This wood is Kiln Conditioned or Kiln Dry (KD), suitable for most applications where the wood is to be used for inside, dwellings, offices or other encloded spaces which are genrally drier and warmer than outside spaces. Suitable and ready to use inside, for furniture, built in joinery, mantels and other finished inside wooden works.
