Red Oak A Grade Slab 1927-34-1 RF1S ELE7
Red Oak slab, very hard and heavy, this slab an example of a slab that has experienced high shrinkage, warp and cup during air drying. The slab is now thoroughly air dry, taken from our air dry shed during the dry autumn days. The slab has now had its first and initial resaw, borer protection applied and placed in dry store to undertake further drying, a means of Kiln Conditioning. This slab is almost truly flat and has had less drying distortion (cup, twist, bow) than the other two recently Catalogued Red Oak slabs, 1927-32-1 and 1927-33-1. A second resaw is recommended.
