Red Oak slab, very hard and heavy, this slab an example of a slab that has experienced high shrinkage, warp cup during air drying. This slab has a defined deep cup in its widest face. It is still quite thick, can be utilized as it is, or later resawing after some time in dry store. The slab is now thoroughly air dry, taken from our air dry shed during the dry autumn days. The slab has now had its first and initial resaw, borer protection applied and placed in dry store to undertake further drying, a means of Kiln Conditioning. A second resaw is recomended.
