Red Oak slab, very hard and heavy, this slab has experienced high shrinkage, warp cup during air drying. This slab has a defined deep cup in its widest face. It is still quite thick, can be utilized as it is, or later resawing after some time in dry store. The slab is now thoroughly air dry, taken from our air dry shed during the dry autumn days. The slab has now had its first and initial resaw, borer protection applied and placed in dry store to undertake further drying, a means of Kiln Conditioning. A second resaw may be undertaken in consultation with buyer.

This wood is Air Dry (AD), suitable for most applications where the wood is outside, or on a covered deck or in an outer shed or building with the same humidity and temperature as the outer environment. Depending on the woods durability rating it may or may not be suitable in exposed conditions and require a covered situation. If you require wood ready to use inside, like furniture, kiln conditioned or kiln dried (KD) wood is more suitable.
