Red Oak slab, very hard and heavy, this slab an example of a slab that has experienced high shrinkage, warp and cup during air drying. The slab is now thoroughly air dry, taken from our air dry shed during the dry autumn days. The slab has had its first and initial resaw, borer protection applied and now placed in dry store to undertake further drying, a means of Kiln Conditioning. A second resaw would be recommended prior to use.
